Should You Use AI to Write Your Content

Can we talk about AI for just a sec?

I know how to use AI.
I understand its power.
But I also feel its limits.

A friend recently asked me if I ever use ChatGPT to write my Wednesday Wisdoms.

The answer is NEVER.

Every Wednesday Wisdom you read is written by me, from my brain, from my heart, from my own experiences.

Yes, I realize AI can scan my podcast interviews and past content to quickly create more Wednesday Wisdoms and save me time.

But, no matter how accurately I train AI to be like me, it still isn’t me. It’s more like a closed-up, perfectionist version of me.

And for me, AI can feel…well…kinda cheap.

It can’t suddenly remember a story from 20 years ago that helps me better illustrate a point I’m trying to make or a lesson I’m trying to teach.

It can’t describe my feelings in a human, personalized way.

It can’t have the sometimes imperfect grammar that lets you know there’s a human behind this keyboard.

Not leaning on AI to write these emails also pushes me to be better.

A better writer.
A better thinker.
A better content creator.

And it challenges me to dig deeper, know my readers, pay attention and sharpen my skills.

No judgment if you use AI in your work. It’s hella useful.

But if you’re on the fence and wondering if you should be using AI more, especially for your content, here’s your permission not to use it.

Just because you hear about everyone else using it doesn’t mean you have to.

I promise you this:

You can never go wrong when you decide to show up as yourself every single time.
